The company declined to disclose its financial investment in the facilities, which add to the single warehouse it has operated in Greenwood for several years.
The new facilities measure 141,000 square feet and 211,000 square feet respectively. The company said in a news release that a key highlight of the expansion is the addition of specialized hazmat storage, which allows for the storage and management of hazardous materials.
“Our expansion in Greenwood marks a significant milestone for TA as we continue to invest in our infrastructure to better support our customers and enhance our service capabilities,” CEO Scott Schell said in the release. “This extension of our footprint not only adds valuable capacity and new features to support our customers’ operations but also allows us to be more agile and responsive in delivering efficient and effective logistics solutions as we continue to grow and evolve.”
The new facilities are not yet fully operational. A spokesperson for TA told Inside INdiana Business that two employees are currently on-site, and plans call for the addition of 25 new jobs.
“With each new facility, we’re adding more than just capacity; we’re fostering growth and innovation to create solutions that truly make a difference for our customers,” said Greg Goad, president of warehousing, fulfillment and mill services at TA. “This expansion is not just about adding space, it’s about enabling us to better serve our customers and deliver on our promise of supply chain excellence.”
TA said it plans to add another 60,000 square feet of warehouse space before the end of the year, though it did not specify if that would be in Greenwood.
The company has nearly 2 million square feet of warehouse space throughout North America. In Indiana, the company also has warehouses in Butler, Columbus, Garrett, and Seymour, as well as a mill in Columbia City.
