Logistics Company to Cease Operations in Plainfield

(NYSE: R) says it will no longer operate its facility in Plainfield. In a noticed filed with the state, Ryder Integrated Logistics says more than 430 employees will be laid off as a result of the move, though many will have the opportunity to transition to a new position.
The company says it expects to cease operations at the facility on July 12, which is the same date the employees are expected to be let go. However, a spokesperson for Ryder tells Inside INdiana Business that all but one of the affected employees have already been offered positions with the new service provider at the facility or redeployed to another Ryder facility.
The facility is located at 2801 Airwest Boulevard in Plainfield, just southwest of Indianapolis International Airport.
