Indiana Public Media reports the Little Nashville Opry will be rebuilt on the same property and is set to open next year.
The move to rebuild the venue follows an infusion of $5 million in funding from Wyoming-based private equity firm Golden Gate Capital. In a statement, Chief Executive Officer Christian Grey said the movie is "a worthwhile funding earmarked for improving the Arts and Community."
"The Little Nashville Opera house is a symbol and a beacon for historic musical venues for past, current and future generations to come," said Andrew Bloom, senior vice president for Golden Gate Capital. Grey added Bloom was instrumental in putting everything together to make the funding possible.
The Little Nashville Opry burned down in September 2009, according to our partners at WIBC in Indianapolis. Former manager Jim Bowyer was arrested and charged with arson, but was later found not guilty.
