The organization has issued a request for proposals from communities interested in hosting the new site.
The central region headquarters, one of five regional offices for Little League International, has been located in Indianapolis since it was established in 1989. The decision to relocate, which was approved by the organization’s board of directors in August, was made "in order to identify a location that suits our evolving needs, and to allow Little League to continue to provide a family-friendly environment for the tournaments and events held each year at the complex."
Little League International President and Chief Executive Officer Stephen Keener says the organization is looking for a location that offers adequate facilities, strong infrastructure and a supporting community. The central region headquarters hosts the Little League Baseball Great Lakes and Midwest Region Championships and Little League Softball Central Region Championships every year.
The organization says it expects to select a new location in 2017. Until that determination is made, operations will continue at the Indianapolis location.
