Lindauer beat out Jerry Sidebottom during voting Monday evening at Jasper City Hall and will finish the remaining term of Braun, who is seeking to unseat U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly in the 2018 mid-term elections.
Lindauer served as a member of Dubois County Council from 2010-2014. He’s a graduate of Jasper High School and Indiana State University. The former member of the Indiana National Guard holds a degree in chiropractic medicine and is part-owner of the family’s Jasper Salvage business.
During his appeal for selection, Lindauer discussed his primary points of focus while serving the state, which he says include "my belief that government doesn’t create wealth," "local government is generally the best place for government to take place" and "the government was primarily instituted to protect life, liberty and property."
District 63 includes parts of Daviess, Dubois, Pike and Martin counties.
