The Trans Solutions Research Research and Resource Center announced on Facebook its acceptance of a $500,000 grant from the Eli Lilly and Co. Foundation last month.
The grant will help Trans Solutions advance its National VISION Project, which seeks to create a national model for a resource and support network tailored to the needs of transgender and gender nonbinary people across an HIV Care Continuum.
Trans Solutions’ work seeks to reduce barriers transgender and gender nonbinary people face in housing, employment, education, health literacy and more — all of which the nonprofit says can further exacerbate the challenges of HIV.
Trans Solutions Deputy Director Flomichelle Battles said on Facebook that the grant makes the nonprofit the first transgender agency to be funded through the Lilly program.
“We are thrilled to receive this grant,” Trans Solutions Founder Marissa Miller said in the post. “Lilly Foundation recognized the urgency and responded promptly with both intentionality and funding to provide support.”
