Indianapolis-based Lenex Steel says it will acquire Wabash Steel LLC in Vincennes. The company says the deal will close by early next year and result in a combined operation with more than 150 workers.

Indianapolis, Ind. — Lenex Steel announces today that it plans to acquire Wabash Steel, LLC from Kokosing of Westerville, Ohio. The transaction, which is expected to close late 2014 or early 2015, is still being finalized and subject to customary closing conditions. The combined operations of Lenex Steel and Wabash Steel employ more than 150 production staff.

Wabash Steel pursues work across the Midwest including fabricating structural steel plate girders for highways, fabricating railroad and pedestrian bridges, truss bridges, box and tub girders, railroad engine underframe assemblies, roof and box trusses for building and plant operations, and other similar structural steel fabrication work.

Wabash Steel, LLC, was formed February 17, 2006, and purchased the assets of Vincennes Steel Corporation March 1, 2006. Vincennes Steel Corporation closed its doors after 107 years in the structural steel fabrication business. Wabash Steel, LLC, opened its doors for business on March 3, 2006.
