In a notice to the state, the company says it will lay off 165 workers in February.
The company did not state a reason for the layoffs, but said they would be permanent. However, CHEP says another company, Ohio-based Medrano USA Inc., will be staffing the facility on February 25, the same date the layoffs will take effect. The CHEP employees affected by the layoffs are eligible to apply for those positions.
The majority of the positions affected by the layoffs are plant labor and yard labor positions.
