The program provides business mentoring services and a retail location at a discounted rental rate to a new business that wins a pitch competition hosted by the coworking space.
Last year’s winner was Laken Richardson, who on Friday cut the ribbon on her new business, Snapped: A Selfie Experience. The “selfie gallery” opened in a space provided by the owners of Saratoga Restaurant in downtown Terre Haute.
Now, Launch Terre Haute is looking for another property owner that can provide space for the next Launch P@d competition.
“We think of Launch P@d as a benefit that is two-fold,” said Launch Terre Haute Chief Operating Officer Jessica Cox. “Not only does it give entrepreneurs a chance to bring their business to life with support and business advising through the Indiana Small Business Development Center, but the hosting location is rented, which means fewer empty storefronts, it brings in income to the landlord, allows for added marketing and visibility, plus you’re paying it forward for a new business.”
Property owners interested in participating can contact Launch Terre Haute for more information. The organization says it expects to begin accepting applications for Launch P@d 2.0 later this summer after a location has been determined.
