Launch LaGrange County involves entrepreneurship clubs at multiple high schools where students can compete in business plan competitions and connect with local business leaders.
The program has already begun at Lakeland and Westview High Schools, with Military and Prairie Heights High Schools soon to follow. The clubs will work toward a February business plan competition, where they will compete for college scholarships, business grants and other awards and opportunities. Organizers say helping students be successful in finding business opportunities will ultimately help LaGrange County retain talent.
In a release from the EDC, Westview High School club sponsor Molly Manns said, "Launch LaGrange County offers Westview students, and students throughout the county, a practical way to develop real-world business and leadership skills."
