No stranger to northwest Indiana, Olesker also previously served as president and CEO of the United Way of Porter County and interim seasonal museum director for Barker Mansion in Michigan City.
Olesker officially began her new role on Monday.
“I have missed working and making a difference in northwest Indiana, so the opportunity to work in the communities of Hammond and East Chicago was an exciting benefit of being selected to run the Lakeshore Chamber,” Olesker said in a news release. I look forward to networking and engagement to our businesses who call this area home and employ our families. I appreciate the chamber members and invite new and returning members; we have a great deal of exciting things on the horizon.”
The chamber said during her tenure with the United Way–now known as United Way of Northwest Indiana–she brought much-needed assistance to several United Way programs.
“Kim is dedicated to service and philanthropy, both personally and professionally, and we are excited to have her leading the Lakeshore Chamber,” the chamber said. “Her extensive track record of leadership, communication, and enthusiasm for helping others has supported this area in On My Way Pre-K and flood recovery.”
Olesker graduated from the University of Nebraska of Omaha with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
