WLFI-TV in West Lafayette reports the city’s board of works has signed agreements with Indianapolis-based American Structurepoint to design the new multi-use facility and Kettlehut Construction of Lafayette to manage the two phases of construction. Construction could get underway in two years and be complete in the second half of 2020.
Last month, Mayor Tom Roswarski unveiled the plans, which involve reorienting the field position to give it a more prominent position in the Tippecanoe County city. The project, Roswarski has said, will be paid through tax increment financing proceeds. The venue is more than 75 years-old and is located near Columbian Park. It’s home to the Lafayette Aviators baseball team of the Prospect League, Lafayette Jefferson High School baseball team and the Colt World Series, which would be temporarily displaced during construction.
