Leaders of the Lafayette-based trailer and truck body manufacturer have signed a multi-year deal with Rockland Flooring of Red Wing, Minnesota.
The supplier will provide Wabash with laminated wood trailer flooring for dry van trailers produced by the company. Rockland has supplied Wabash for 15 years and company leaders say this new deal will help Wabash as the company grows.
The announcement comes less than a month after Wabash cut the ribbon on its $80 million advanced dry van trailer manufacturing facility in Lafayette.
“We’re pleased to expand on our long-standing relationship with Rockland Flooring by executing our first long-term agreement for wood flooring for dry van trailers,” Wabash Vice President of Global Procurement Richard Mansilla said in a news release. “As our new dry van trailer manufacturing facility reaches full capacity in 2024, this agreement will allow us to secure wood flooring above what we can produce out of Wabash’s wood flooring production facility in Harrison, Arkansas.”
Mansilla said the new dry van trailer facility is poised to yield an additional 10,000 units annually when fully operational.
The company’s news release did not disclose financial details of the agreement, but described the deal as mutually beneficial.
“Having worked together for many years, we are pleased to formalize our working relationship through this long-term agreement with Wabash,” Rockland Flooring Chief Sales Officer Chris Wolford said. “This agreement is an important step in aligning our companies to better serve the future needs of our mutual customers in the transportation industry.”
