The company’s central division will cease operations at its East 46th Street location, near North Arlington Avenue on the city’s northeast side. Company officials say the closure is due to poor financial performance.
The store will close by the end of the month, when the company’s lease expires. Kroger officials say customers will be able to shop at five other Kroger locations within 5 or 6 miles of the East 46th Street store. The 65 associates will be offered transfer opportunities to another Indianapolis Kroger store. The company’s HR department will work with the associates during the transition.
