The city is participating in Indiana’s CreatINg Places program, which provides matching grant dollars to local communities looking to develop attractive public spaces.
The Kendallville Parks and Recreation Department is looking to raise $45,000 by Dec. 1, 2023, to unlock the matching funds from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.
The proposed skate park would be built in the Kendallville Outdoor Sports Complex.
“Because of the dedication of youth and citizens within our community, the Kendallville Skatepark will soon come to fruition,” Kendallville Park and Recreation Director Dawn McGahen said in a news release. “We are excited to bring a state-of-the-art facility to our community and look forward to hosting local and out-of-town guests.”
