CVB Board President Michael Neal says the selection will market community assets including "great local restaurants, innovative craft breweries and championship golf courses."
The county established a funding mechanism for tourism marketing in 2015, and began collecting those funds last year. The board expects a budget of more than $400,000 this year, which it says will go to the director’s contract and marketing community attractions.
Neal says the board is looking for someone with strong industry knowledge, who can drive "measured increases in day trips, hotel stays and overall visitor spending."
Interested candidates can find more information at Johnson County’s website. Submissions are due by 5:00 p.m. on February 1.
