The not-for-profit has selected Kim Kasting, who currently serves as vice president of development, as its next president and CEO.
Kasting succeeds Gail Richards, who is retiring from the organization after 15 years. Richards will stay with the foundation through next March as a director of special projects.
“The opportunity to hire a candidate with a legacy of service and commitment to JCCF made Kim Kasting the perfect choice to become JCCF’s next president & CEO,” Board Chair Steve Spencer said in a news release. “With this transition, the board of directors preserves not only continuity in the Foundation’s direction but also the integrity and reputation for service to the Johnson County.”
Before serving in her current role, Kasting was the foundation’s director of grants and scholarships. The foundation says it has grown its assets from $11 million to $40 million while Kasting has worked with the not-for-profit. She’s also helped develop the foundation’s first 24-hour Giving Day which raised more than $270,000 for local organizations.
Kasting has also managed Lilly Endowment grants totaling $2.5 million, representing a 50% increase in the foundation’s unrestricted grantmaking, as well as a $500,000 impact award to launch the state’s first Employer Resource Network.
“I am confident that the skills I have gained in my time at JCCF, as well as my passion for the work being done here and my love for Johnson County make me the ideal fit for the position,” Kasting said in the news release.
