The company on Tuesday announced the opening of its new Parnell Collision Center, the result of a more than $3 million investment.
The new collision center provides repair and paint services for trucks, buses and other commercial and heavy-duty vehicles.
The company said the facility also features a Blowtherm Paint Booth shipped to Jeffersonville from Italy, one of only 12 of its kind in the United States. It can hold a 53-foot trailer inside and features air filtration that prevents dust and dirt from landing on the paint job, and it can then heat up to 200 degrees to cure the paint.
Mister “P” Express said the collision center has already performed work on a variety of vehicles, including wrecked cement mixers, garbage trucks, delivery trucks, RVs, tractor-trailers, EMS vehicles, racecar trailers and horse trailers.
“We are in such a convenient location for southern Indiana customers, and also Louisville customers,” CEO Cindy Collier said in a news release. “We’re just a few minutes away from Louisville once you zip across the East End Bridge.”
The collision center opened with 18 employees, and a company spokesperson told Inside INdiana Business that with more shifts being added, they have the potential of bringing that number to 60.
Mister “P” Express currently employs about 300 people across its entire footprint at River Ridge Commerce Center, which includes its main truck manufacturing operation, as well as the Parnell Commercial Driving School.
The company says it has secured an additional 18 acres at River Ridge for future development.
