Ivy Tech to Begin Work on Manufacturing Center

Subscribe NowIvy Tech Community College will break ground this week on its Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center in Lawrenceburg. The $6 million facility will house training in areas including welding, machining and robotics.
Ivy Tech is partnering with the city of Lawrenceburg to fund the project. The school is investing $3 million in the effort, and the city has committed $2.3 million. The project will consist of a 12,000 square-foot addition to the Lakefront building and the renovation of 5,000 square feet of the original building. It’s scheduled for completion in the fall of 2016.
The groundbreaking ceremony is set for Friday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ivy Tech Lakefront building in Lawrenceburg. Lawrenceburg Mayor Dennis Carr, Ivy Tech Chancellor Chris Lowery and Proximo Distillers General Manager John Montgomery are scheduled to take part in the event.
