The Indianapolis-based nonprofit says the gift will fund a $520,000 Endowed Scholarship to support students who have experienced the death of one or both parents before the age of 18 or who have experienced the death of a spouse.
The nonprofit says the balance of funds will be allocated to IvyCares, a program that offers financial coaching, community resource referrals and free mental health counseling, among other services, to Ivy Tech students.
“Ivy Tech is grateful for this generous gift that will aid students when life presents momentary barriers to their educational journey,” said Ivy Tech Foundation President Courtney Roberts. “This scholarship will mean a great deal to many Ivy Tech students across the state, and we’re looking forward to seeing the positive results for our students.”
The scholarship will support students at Ivy Tech’s South Bend/Elkhart, Fort Wayne, Kokomo, Lafayette, Marion, Muncie, Anderson, Indianapolis, Terre Haute, Columbus, Bloomington, Madison, Sellersburg, and Evansville campuses.
The scholarship will be available to students beginning this fall.
