Robinson-Cooper, who most recently served as president of Contra Costa College in California, was selected following a national search.
The college says Robinson-Cooper will begin her new role on July 11.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Robinson-Cooper to Ivy Tech,” said Dr. Sue Ellspermann, president of Ivy Tech. “She is an experienced community college leader with two decades of progressive leadership experience.”
In May, Ivy Tech hosted three separate forums for the post’s final candidates. Dr. Nerita Hughes and Andrew Williams were the other two finalists vying for the position.
“I have always admired Ivy Tech’s intentional commitment to workforce development and social-economic mobility,” said Robinson-Cooper. “I am honored to serve as chancellor of Ivy Tech South Bend-Elkhart and look forward to continuing this important work.”
Previously, Robinson-Cooper also served as provost and vice president of academic affairs/chief academic officer at Inver Hills Community College. Ivy Tech says Robinson-Cooper has also served as the vice president of academic affairs at East Central College.
