Ivy Tech Community College has named Andrew Bowne senior vice president and chief operating officer. Bowne, who currently serves as chancellor for the college’s East Central and Richmond regions, will begin his new role August 15.

In the role, Bowne will be responsible for working with local chancellors on regional operations, statewide improvement efforts and facilities planning work. He will also lead the strategic planning work which will be underway in 2017.

"We are thrilled that Andy will be joining our team in his new statewide role," said Sue Ellspermann, who took over last month as president of Ivy Tech. "It was important to bring someone into this position that had Ivy Tech Community College chancellor experience. His experience will bring another perspective to our overall efforts to ensure student success and aligning our offerings with the workforce needs across Indiana. He will be a tremendous asset to the team."

Bowne has served as chancellor of the East Central region since 2012 and the Richmond region since 2014. Ivy Tech says an interim chancellor for both regions will be named in the coming weeks.
