Ivy Tech Chancellor Appointed VP For National Board

Subscribe NowIvy Tech Community College Lafayette Chancellor Dr. David Bathe has been appointed vice president of finance for the National Council for Workforce Education. As an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges, NCWE provides a national forum for administrators and faculty in workforce education and basic skills. Bathe joined the NCWE board in June 2017.
He serves on the executive committee and oversees financial operations of the organization. As a member of the board, Bathe continues to help make policy recommendations to support workforce education initiatives across the country and advocate for policy and legislation that support workforce and economic development and job training.
He has been chancellor of the Ivy Tech Lafayette service area since 2004. Bathe previously served vice chancellor of academic affairs beginning in 1999. Under his leadership, sites in Crawfordsville, Monticello and Frankfort were established, and several key programs were created that supported the workforce in the Greater Lafayette area including biotechnology, chemical technology and agriculture.
Bathe serves on several boards including the Community College Alliance for Agriculture Advancement, Wabash Heartland Innovation Network, Greater Lafayette Commerce, WGU Indiana Advisory Board and City of Lafayette Economic Development Commission. He is an honorary commander of the 434th Operation Group, Grissom Air Reserve Base.
