Ivy Tech Names Vice Chancellor

Subscribe NowIvy Tech Community College has promoted Rod Brown to vice chancellor for academic affairs at its Indianapolis campus. His official start date is January 7. He currently serves as professor and dean for the School of Arts, Sciences and Education at Ivy Tech Indianapolis. Brown began his career in higher education as a student affairs professional at Grinnell College and Harper College before transitioning to academic affairs as full-time English faculty at Martin University.
In 2003, he joined Ivy Tech as the department chair for Liberal Arts at its Richmond campus and later served as the director remediation and basic skill development in the college’s Systems Office. As a dean, Brown led numerous regional and statewide initiatives, including Accelerating Greatness and Achieving the Dream. He is a 2007 recipient of the College’s President’s Award for Excellence in Instruction, a 2012 graduate of the Thomas Lakin Institute for Mentored Leadership and a member of the Peer Corps for the Higher Learning Commission.
