The search committee will work to identify a successor to Sue Ellspermann, who is retiring at the end of the current academic year.
The presidential search committee is comprised of representatives from the Ivy Tech State Board of Trustees, as well as one faculty member.
“We are committed to a transparent and inclusive search process,” State Board Chairman Andrew Wilson said in a news release. “This is an important moment for Ivy Tech, and we are confident that this process will result in the selection of a leader who will continue to build on the College’s legacy of excellence.”
The board has tapped national executive search firm Isaacson, Miller to conduct the candidate search, with the goal of identifying individuals “who demonstrate the leadership, experience, and vision needed to advance the mission of Ivy Tech.”
The committee also plans to host listening sessions with stakeholders this month to ensure the search process reflects the needs of the college, Ivy Tech said.
The search committee members are:
- Andrew Wilson, State Trustee, Chair and Co-Chair of the Search Committee, Evansville
- Kim Emmert-O’Dell, State Trustee, Vice Chair and Co-Chair of the Search Committee, Terre Haute; Emmert-O’Dell also serves as a member of the Ivy Tech Foundation Board.
- Marianne Glick, State Trustee, At-Large
- Kerry Stemler, State Trustee, Sellersburg
- Michael Dora, State Trustee Secretary, Richmond
- Autumn McNichols, Faculty Member, Hamilton County
In June, Ellspermann announced her plans to retire after 10 years in the role. She is the college’s president and the first woman to hold the position.
The search for her successor is expected to be completed by the spring of 2025.
