The school says the vehicle gives students the opportunity to work on a more modern platform than its current 1968 MGB.
Students will analyze and prepare the new car for use in Sports Car Club of America amateur racing events. The school says the program gives students the chance to use motorsports design and aerodynamics skills in the lab and on the racetrack.
The MGB will be used in SCCA Solo Modified racing events. Program Director Pete Hylton says it will be overhauled to prepare it for the new form of competition.
IUPUI launched its degree in motorsports engineering in 2008.
