Paul Halverson has been appointed to the National Advisory Committee of the recently-established Public Health National Center for Innovations. He is the founding dean of the IU Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health at IUPUI. Halverson joins the group that guides program development that aims to achieve a culture of health. Halverson joined IU in 2013. He previously served as the state health officer and director of the Arkansas Department of Health and has served in senior management roles at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The center was established by the Public Health Accreditation Board with the purpose of identifying, implementing and spreading innovations in public health practices. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is investing nearly $3 million in the center’s first three-year initiative.
