A batch of new degrees and architectural designs has been approved by the Indiana University Board of Trustees. The academic programs still need final approval from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the construction work involves the main campus in Bloomington and the IUPUI campus.

The new degrees include:

• Master of Science in athletic training in the School of Public Health-Bloomington
• Master of Science in environmental and occupational health in the School of Public Health-Bloomington
• Bachelor of Arts in international law and institutions
• Bachelor of Science in molecular life sciences

The new projects include:

• Renovation of the Indiana University Golf Course in Bloomington — including new clubhouse, driving range and hole layouts
• Renovation and relocation of the Metz Carillon on the Bloomington campus — four new bells will be added to the 162-foot tower, making it a grand carillon with a total of 65 bells
• New campus gateways at the corner of Michigan and West streets and at New York and West streets on the IUPUI campus

Another project on the IUPUI campus, the study of a sports district, has been approved for a planning study. It will examine the potential co-location of several sports-related organizations and facilities and will be coordinated by IU, the Indiana Sports Corp. and the state.
