IU Reports Record Enrollment

Based on census data as of August 30, the main campus has 45,328 students, an increase of more than 5% over last year. The school says a big reason for the jump is the large number of first year students. IU says the incoming class accounts for 9,482 students, a 20% increase over last year.
Systemwide, IU has 91,084 students enrolled, which is a 1.6% decrease from fall 2020.
The school says IUPUI saw a decrease in undergraduate enrollment this fall, accounting for 25,713 students. However, the urban campus has an all-time high of 8,292 students in graduate and professional programs.
The university says its online program continues to grow with 8,224 students enrolled in fully online programs. IU says credit hours from online courses represent nearly 23% of all credit hours at IU.
