Subscribe NowIndiana University has appointed Michael Morrone director of its faculty program designed to promote outstanding teaching across the university’s campuses. He is a senior lecturer in business communication at IU’s Kelley School of Business.
The Faculty Colloquium on Excellence in Teaching promotes teaching advancement through retreats and lectures, and honors outstanding teaching from faculty across IU’s eight campuses. It also publishes the Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
Morrone says he hopes to build on FACET’s connections with campus teaching centers and faculty governance organizations and aligning the effort’s priorities with IU’s Bicentennial Strategic Plan. He holds degrees from the Southern Methodist University School of Law and Duke University.
FACET was founded in 1989 with the goal of taking "a comprehensive approach to promote excellence in teaching."
