The healthcare provider has opened its first primary care office in the state’s second-largest city. It will have 17 staff members and support personnel, a number IU Health says could increase if patient volumes grow.
The primary care office follows the opening earlier this year of its first Riley Children’s Health specialty pediatric clinic in Fort Wayne. IU Health says it plans a long-term presence in the market and could add imaging, laboratory and urgent care centers throughout the region in the future.
IU Health System Clinical Services President Ron Stiver says "IU Health is pleased to open our first primary care office in Fort Wayne, giving residents a new option for high-quality care. This is an important step as we look to provide convenient access to personalized care in the second-largest city in the state."
The new, 10,000 square-foot facility is located on the city’s southwest side and it includes 20 exam and procedure rooms.
