Casey, who is the board’s chair, gave $100,000 to establish the Securing our Future Scholarship fund, which specifically supports criminology and security studies students. He graduated from ISU in 1980 and held a career in security and law enforcement, including being an FBI agent for 25 years.
“Trustee Casey has long-supported our School of Criminology and Security Studies, coming to campus and meeting with students, helping them find internship and research opportunities, and mentoring them as they start and progress through their careers,” Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Christopher Olsen said in a news release. “It’s hard to think of a more engaged, dedicated alumnus, and we are so grateful to Trustee Casey for all of his work on behalf of ISU and particularly our students.”
The board also announced its leadership team to search for the university’s next president after president Deborah Curtis announced her retirement earlier this month.
The team consists of:
- Trustee John Pratt – Chair of the Search Committee
- Trustee Cynthia Powers – Vice Chair of the Search Committee
- Trustee Cheryl Roberson – ISU Board of Trustees
- Robert Casey – Chair, ISU Trustees, Ex-Officio Committee Member
- Rex Kendall – Chief of Staff, Ex-Officio Committee Member
The university said more details on the presidential search will be made available as the process continues.
