Indy Women in Tech Championship Donates to Foundation

Subscribe NowSeveral programs and initiatives across the state will benefit from a donation made by The Indy Women in Tech Championship to the Indy Women in Tech Foundation. The $180,000 will foster women and tech initiatives, STEM Days and career transitioning.
The iWiT Foundation will specifically support education and training programs at Eleven Fifty Academy and Ivy Tech, along with donating VEX Robotics kits to schools across the state, and hosting the Ignite Your Superpower STEM Day at IUPUI for 600 middle school girls.
“The goal of the IWiT Championship has always been to use the spotlight of the LPGA Tour to raise funds and awareness for the foundation,” said Dan Towriss, President and CEO of Group1001. “Thanks to the ongoing support from the community, we have been able to achieve this goal. Through the tournament and the coinciding special events we have been able to further the initiatives and mission of IWiT, and have raised funds that will go towards a better future for women in Indy.”
The 2018 tournament was held August 13-19 at The Brickyard Crossing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The 2018 purse was $2 million and the winner, Sung Hyun Park, earned a $300,000 check..
