The flight school, which primarily operates out of the South Greenwood Airport, said the new location will serve as a flight training location for students completing aviation degrees through Indiana Wesleyan National & Global.
Details of Jeff Air’s financial investment were not immediately disclosed. While the school has satellite locations in Marion, Evansville, and Louisville, the Anderson site is its second full location.
In addition to serving IWU students, Jeff Air said the Anderson location offers all of the company’s services, including flight training, youth courses, and testing.
“The Anderson location is a significant milestone for Jeff Air,” owner David Jeffries said in a news release. “With pilot shortages, flight delays, and other aviation issues impacting the industry, we are committed to doing our part by providing interested students with the highest level of training.”
Jeff Air did not specify how many jobs were created at the new location.
In June 2021, Jeff Air announced a partnership with Indiana Wesleyan University, in which students looking for a career in aviation can earn either an Associate of Science with a Professional Pilot major or a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from IWU while completing their flight school training at a Jeff Air location.
