Indy Chamber’s REDi Program Makes Promotion, Hire

Subscribe NowThe Indy Chamber’s Business Ownership Initiative has hired Emily Hawk as business coach for the organization’s ReEntry Entrepreneurship Development Initiative. The program’s former Business Coach, Neil Metzger, has been promoted to REDi program manager.
Hawk will facilitate the program’s 6-week course and provides one-on-one technical business training to incarcerated and formerly-incarcerated individuals. She received a Bachelor of Art in Sociology from DePauw University and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Akron. Hawk previously served as a defense attorney with the Public Defender of Indiana and in private practice. She was also the original hire of a start-up business in Broad Ripple, which took assignments of civil judgments and worked to collect them on behalf of creditor plaintiffs. In that role, Hawk was responsible for accounts payable and receivable, marketing, training and hiring and supervising that company’s employees, which grew to almost 15 in the course of its operations.
Metzger will oversee the program’s development, strategic partnerships and curriculum moving into its third year. In addition to program management, he will continue to provide coaching and training to REDi participants. Metzger received a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and a Bachelor and Master of Art in Political Science from Saint Louis University. He has conducted research on community entrepreneurial ecosystems, economic and fiscal impact analysis, target industry and labor market analysis. Metzger also previously served as a research project consultant for Thomas P. Miller and Associates. He has 11 years of experience in research analysis, economic development consulting, banking and higher education.
