Instructors from Kelley will provide insight and strategies to rebuild Indiana businesses as they start to reopen.
The webinars are part of the chamber’s Rapid Recovery Hub, which offers a host of initiatives to help business owners.
“The Indy Chamber Kelley School of Business Recovery Series will help you not only to recover from the effects of the pandemic but to flourish,” said Richard Magjuka faculty chair of Kelley School of Business Executive Education. “Each webinar has been crafted specifically to address critical business issues that confront small and mid-sized businesses today.”
The chamber says the information may be especially helpful to small business owners who lack the resources of larger companies.
“Through this process, we’ve been really focused on ultra-small business, think 10 or less employees. A lot of service industry,” said Adam Burtner, manager of policy and political affairs for Indy Chamber. “I think that’s who’s going to join in. Those most thirsty for guidance and help.”
The series is free and open to the public, but there is a 500-person cap to the number of registrants per episode.
The topics include managing staff, marketing, and coping with supply chain risks in a post-pandemic business world. Burtner says the topics have been based on questions from businesses the chamber has been receiving the past two months.
“We’ve been able to survive due to loans, but we’re really worried about the strategy. Is there going to be a supply and demand issue? What should we tell our customers to get them to return and to find new ones,” as Burtner described some of the questions?
Each session will last 45 minutes, followed by 15 minutes for Q & A. Recordings of each session will be made available at Indy Chamber’s Rapid Response Hub.
Held each Tuesday and Thursday through June 18, the eight-part series will be taught by Kelley faculty at Indianapolis and Bloomington.
Burtner said he thinks there is optimism among many small business owners, but it’s cautious optimism. He feels the webinar session will turn optimism into reality.
“Our real goal is giving folks clarity on how to reopen and be successful in post-COVID-19,” said Burtner. “Obviously, we’re going to be dealing with this for a long time.”
The first session is Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET. Click here to register and to view the eight topics to be addressed during the webinar.
