Wisconsin-based Exponential Power Inc. has acquired the company, though financial terms are not being disclosed.
Founded in 1980, DC Kilowatts also makes batteries and chargers for switchgear, in addition to designing and installing battery charging rooms.
The company had 12 employees at the time of the acquisition. A spokesperson for Exponential Power told IIB no jobs are being negatively affected by the deal, and the acquiring company has plans to invest and grow in Indianapolis.
“Bill Fink and his team built an impressive company with a 43-year history and have been a Crown Battery authorized representative since 2007,” Exponential Power CEO Jake Walker said in a news release. “Their motive power expertise is a great fit for Exponential Power, expanding our geographic footprint, strengthening our more-than-30-year relationship with Crown Battery, and further increasing our sales and service capabilities.”
Exponential Power said the acquisition expands its reach for service and stored power solutions to 18 locations across the country. The company employs more than 300 people.
The company was formed in January 2021 through a merger of four companies. The acquisition of DC Kilowatts is Exponential Power’s sixth over the past 18 months.
