Indy Attorney Named Honorary Consul of Japan

Subscribe NowThe Japanese government has appointed a partner at Barnes & Thornburg LLP as Honorary Consul of Japan in Indianapolis. Peter Morse, who serves as administrator of the firm’s labor and employment department, will represent Japan in Indiana.
In his new role, Morse will provide consultation and support for Japanese nationals. He will also be responsible for promoting better understanding of Japan.
Last year, Morse was part of the delegation led by Governor Mike Pence on a trade mission to Japan. He was part of Pence’s trade mission in 2013 as well. Morse is also on the board of directors for the Japan-America Society of Indiana, where he serves as secretary.
Morse joins three other Honorary Consuls of Japan in the Midwest. The other representatives are located in Nebraska, Missouri and Minnesota.
