Indy 500 Festival Event Cars Unveiled

Subscribe NowThe main straightaway at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was clogged Monday with 50 identical 2022 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertibles. The collection of festival event cars serves as another sign that the 106th running of the Indianapolis 500 is less than two months away.
IMS has conducted the ceremony since the 1960s.
“We’re glad to continue the tradition of providing Festival Event Cars to build excitement for the Indianapolis 500,” said Dean Stramer, Chevrolet Camaro marketing and advertising manager. “Our Chevrolet Design team did a great job making this year’s Camaro a stand-out.”
Under the hood, the Camaro is powered by a 6.2-liter, small block V-8 with 455 horsepower. The exterior is painted in “wild cherry” tint coat.
The autos will be driven around the city by IMS leaders and other stakeholders to promote the race which is May 29.
