The Indiana Department of Transportation says the S.R. 13/S.R. 18 bridge over the Kokomo Grain Railroad tracks will close Wednesday, weather permitting. The closure is expected to last until late fall.

The $1.4 million project will include a complete replacement of the current eight-span bridge with a new single-span bridge over the railroad tracks. Crews will also replace a bridge deck between the S.R. 18 south and north junctions.

INDOT is encouraging motorists to use the official detour from U.S. 35 to S.R. 37 to S.R. 9 to S.R. 18.
