The acquisition closed on Aug. 1, though financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
Shaker, which launched in November 2020, has developed a transaction management platform for real estate agents and teams to highlight their work for sellers and buyers.
AccountTech said in a news release that Shaker’s platform has already created benefits for its clients.
“We have been watching the evolution of Shaker.io for a while and are excited by all the things our clients can do with this technology,” AccountTech CEO Mark Blagden said. “To most users, Shaker appears as a compliance and communication app—but we see it as a Project Management tool. We are already using it to create agent onboarding workflows and marketing design workflows.”
Shaker CEO Chris Lucas said the company had three employees at the time of the acquisition, all of whom were retained. Shaker will continue to operate in Indianapolis and looks to grow its team as it scales its platform.
“We will continue to operate Shaker as a standalone company but will be expanding the platform with AccountTech’s back-office functionality, including commission tracking/calculations, real estate accounting (for brokerages) and new product development that will be announced in the upcoming months,” Lucas said in an email to Inside INdiana Business.
The acquisition brings AccountTech’s employee headcount to more than 35.
