In her new role, Koschnick will serve as a cabinet member in Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett’s administration, in which she previously served as deputy communications director.
“Emily Koschnick is a longtime Indianapolis resident and a proven community leader who has served in numerous volunteer and leadership roles, including in Mayor Hogsett’s administration,” said Mary Chandler, GIPC board chair. “She is the perfect person to lead GIPC in this next stage of its journey.”
The organization says Koschnick has a background in communications and public relations and most recently served as director of public relations for Indianapolis-based Porch Light Public Relations.

Koschnick’s background includes numerous board appointments, including vice-president of the Indianapolis/Marion County Building Authority board, Indianapolis/Marion County Telecom and Video Services board, and People for Urban Progress board of directors.
