The Indianapolis Foundation has announced over $2 million in grants have been awarded to nonprofit organizations in Marion County. The latest round of grants supports 40 initiatives and programs, including for access to transportation, education and the arts.

Some of the 2018 first round grant recipients include:

• PACE Inc.—$35,000 will enable the organization to grow enrollment in its Center for Working Families services that uniquely target ex-offenders, offering financial literacy, career and income goals, family counseling and more. PACE successfully sustains a low, 4.2 percent recidivism rate among its clients as a result of its programming.
• Corporation for Supportive Housing—$50,000 will help deploy the national organization’s expertise in developing high quality housing in Indianapolis. This initiative aligns with Mayor Joe Hogsett’s call to find housing for 400 homeless individuals by the end of 2018.
• Indianapolis Parks Foundation—$50,000 will support a feasibility study to develop the B&O Trail in the River West community. The trail would connect Speedway and River West to IUPUI, downtown and The Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick.
• Indiana Latino Institute—$50,000 will support comprehensive education-to-career programs for more than 600 Latino students, including, a high school summit, college coaching, career exploration services and a summer internship and fellowship program.
• Dress for Success Indianapolis Inc.—$40,000 will support the organization’s Employment Obtainment and Retention program, which provides a comprehensive suite of personal and professional employment services for more than 90 low-income women.
