Indiana Vehicles Continue to Drive Subaru

The automaker says sales of the Impreza, which is made at Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. in Lafayette, increased more than 120 percent last month compared to October 2016.
Overall, Subaru reported 54,045 vehicle sales for October 2017, which is a 0.5 percent increase over October 2016. Year-to-date, Subaru is reporting sales of 532,893 vehicles, which is 6.4 percent higher than the same period in 2016.
The numbers are the latest bit of good news for Subaru and its Indiana operations. The company says it sold more cars in August than any other month in its history.
SIA in Lafayette makes the Legacy, Outback and Impreza models and will begin making Ascent models next year. The facility currently employs more than 5,400 associates.
