During Snyder’s tenure at Indiana Tech, undergraduate enrollment has more than doubled, adult student enrollment has more than tripled and academic offerings have expanded, including the introduction of Indiana Tech Law School in 2013. The downtown Fort Wayne campus has also seen many additions, including six new residence halls, the academic center and the Warrior Athletic Center, among others.
"It’s been a privilege to work with an outstanding and dedicated team of faculty and staff here at Indiana Tech over the past 13 years, and I look forward to our work together in the coming academic year," said Snyder. "Since we first arrived here in 2003, my wife, Camille, and I have had the pleasure of getting to know so many of our wonderful students of all ages and backgrounds, and have been fortunate to see them grow in every area of their lives. It’s these Warrior students, our alumni, and the energy and spirit of the entire Indiana Tech community, that we will miss most of all."
Indiana Tech says Snyder will continue to serve as president emeritus following his retirement. He will also continue to work as a writer, speaker and consultant.
"Dr. Snyder is truly a leader in every sense of the word – one who will be succeeded but not replaced. His commitment to students across Indiana Tech becomes quickly apparent to all who meet him," said Janet Chrzan, chair of Indiana Tech’s board of trustees. "He’s led our university to new levels of achievement in every area, with student support and success the driving force behind every initiative. All of us on the Board are grateful for his service, and we look forward to continuing our work with him over the year ahead."
A search committee has been formed to find Snyder’s successor. It is comprised of members from the Indiana Tech board of trustees, faculty and staff.
