Indianapolis, Ind. — Today, the State of Indiana launched the Management and Performance Hub (MPH) website. The MPH website is one of several initiatives under the MPH program and the site is the first public result of the program, which is aimed at bringing better visibility, accountability and openness of state government using modern data analytics tools. The website can be found at www.in.gov/mph.
“Hoosiers deserve an open and accountable government that moves at the speed of business,” said Governor Pence. “The Management and Performance Hub (MPH) website and the program as a whole reiterate Indiana’s commitment to making this goal a reality and move Indiana in the direction of becoming even more effective, responsible, and transparent.”
In addition to providing access to the information currently provided in the state’s transparency portal, the MPH website gives Hoosiers the opportunity to explore three main areas: the Governor’s six Roadmap goals and their progress, a one stop shop for the financial health of the State, and trending key performance indicators (KPIs) for executive branch agencies. In an effort to increase government fiscal accountability, the financial health section contains details on the State’s budget, Indiana Public Retirement System statistics, local government data by county, tax revenue information, and a history of surplus statements.
As users explore the site, they are able to view the information in a variety of ways and can customize the look and layout of the information prior to downloading the data. In addition, the key performance indicator page for each agency easily identifies agency KPIs and the progress the agency is making toward those goals.
The MPH website is an expansion of Indiana’s focus on transparency. Recently named the most transparent state government site by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group (PIRG), the State continues to move toward more transparency and accountability with the addition of the MPH website.
The MPH, established by Executive Order 14-06, is coordinated by the Office of Management and Budget and the Indiana Office of Technology (IOT). The majority of the funding for the MPH will come from current Indiana Office of Technology resources for technology improvement. Lilly Endowment Inc. also awarded a $500,000 grant to IOT for cutting-edge technology for the MPH program.
