Indiana State Trustees Approve Tuition Raise, Budgets

Subscribe NowThe Indiana State University Board of Trustees has approved an increase in tuition and an operating budget. The institution also announced renovation projects and board of trustees officers who will start their terms in July.
Tuition for an in-state full-time undergraduate student will increase 1.65 percent to $4,518 a semester in 2019-20, a $73 increase per semester compared to the previous year.
Indiana State’s 2019-20 operating budget will reflect a 1.5 percent across-the-board increase for well-performing employees. The budget will also allow a 1.5 percent increase in student wages and a 2 percent increase in university scholarships.
The board also approved of a project to replace the roof of Root Hall for $1,200,000 as well as Holmstedt Hall roof and flashing repairs for $50,000, building system repairs for $50,000, masonry restoration for $154,289 and sidewalk repairs for $50,000.
The board of trustees officers for 2019-2020 will be:
- Chair: Jeff Taylor
- Vice Chair: Kathleen Cabello
- Secretary: Kim Smith
- Assistant Secretary: Edward Pease
- University Treasurer: Diann McKee
- Trustee to serve as ex-officio member of the ISU Foundation Board: Smith
- Smith will additionally chair the Finance Committee, with Randall Minas and Taylor serving as members
