Indiana State Police names former state treasurer as CFO

ISP announced that Mitchell is the agency’s new chief financial officer and will oversee budgeting, payroll, procurement, accounts receivable and grant management.
Mitchell was previously the treasurer of the state under governors Mike Pence and Eric Holcomb from 2014-2023.
ISP Superintendent Doug Carter said in a release that Mitchell started with the police agency late last month.
“I am so proud and excited to welcome Kelly Mitchell to our leadership team,” Carter said. “We have every confidence she will continue to take our agency down the path of sound fiscal management while pushing forward with the positive, productive fiscal relationships we enjoy with stakeholders like the State Budget Agency and the Indiana Department of Administration.”
Mitchell succeeds former CFO Mickey James, who is retiring.
