The companies are accused of making false claims for payment from Indiana’s Medicaid program between January 1, 2009 and September 30, 2013. Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill says ImmediaDent improperly billed Medicaid for dental services in nine dental practices. Samson Dental was accused of influencing ImmediaDent’s employees, compromising their clinical work. Both companies billed pulling teeth as surgical extractions, and allegedly billed for deep cleaning that wasn’t done or was unnecessary.
The companies were forced to pay the United States over $3.4 million, and Indiana received over $1.78 million.
