The association says Scheidt was nominated by the Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors in Indianapolis, an association of about 300 members.
The IAR says Scheidt is the first honoree from ICBR in the award’s 65-year history. Nineteen different nominations were submitted from associations around the state for the award.
“The Indiana Realtor of the Year award recognizes a Realtor who is at the height of their career –someone who provides excellent service to their clients, community, and fellow Realtors,” said Terre Haute’s Bernice Helman, the 2020 President of the Indiana Association of REALTORS. “While all the nominees were qualified, Randy rose to the top this year because of his booming voice in support of private property rights and strong communities. Randy knows his craft and is a natural teacher. He’s always willing to offer support and guidance to others in the business. The real estate industry is better due to Randy’s many contributions and leadership.”
Earlier this year, Scheidt was the recipient of the inaugural Distinguished Service Award from ICBR.
The IAR says the National Association of Realtors relies on Scheidt to be the main contact with Congressman Greg Pence from Indiana’s 6th District. The NAR also appointed Randy to serve on its Broker Engagement Committee in 2020 and its Commercial Federal Policy Committee as vice chair in 2021. Randy is slated to be the chair of the Commercial Federal Policy Committee in 2022.
Scheidt founded Don R. Scheidt & Co. Inc. and guided the business for more than 40 years. In 2019, he started Scheidt Commercial Realty LLC to assist with personal real estate investments.
